Safe and Comfortable IUD Insertions
At Integrated Health Clinic, we prioritize your comfort and care during every procedure. Our IUD insertion process is enhanced with advanced techniques like ultrasound guidance and numbing options, ensuring precision and a pain-minimized experience.
What is an IUD?
An intrauterine device (IUD) is a small, T-shaped device placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy or manage other health conditions, such as heavy periods. IUDs are long-lasting, reversible, and highly effective forms of birth control.
Why Choose Ultrasound-Guided IUD Insertion?
Using ultrasound during IUD insertion provides real-time visualization of the uterus. This approach allows us to:
Ensure accurate placement.
Minimize risks, especially for those with unique uterine anatomy.
Provide peace of mind for patients with a history of IUD complications.
How We Make the Procedure Comfortable
Many women worry about pain during IUD insertion. At IHC, we use the following techniques to prioritize your comfort:
Numbing Options
Local Cervical Block: A deeper numbing option that effectively minimizes pain.
Ultrasound Guidance
Improves accuracy, reducing discomfort associated with improper placement.
Gentle, Patient-Centered Approach
We walk you through every step of the process, answering any questions you have.
Who Can Benefit from Ultrasound and Numbing?
While all patients can benefit from these techniques, they are particularly helpful for:
First-time IUD users.
Patients with anxiety about the procedure.
Individuals with a history of painful IUD insertions or complications.
Those with unique uterine anatomy or conditions like fibroids or a tilted uterus.
